Prayers and Scripture
Prayers for strength
Some seasons ask more of us than we feel able to give. When your own strength runs thin, God offers a strength that does not run out.
These verses are for the tired and the worn down. Let them remind you where lasting strength is found.
A prayer for strength
Lord, I am tired in a way that rest alone does not fix. I have been carrying more than I can hold, and my strength is nearly gone. I come to you, the one who gives power to the faint and renews those who have no might. Be my strength today, not just enough to survive, but enough to keep loving, keep showing up, and keep trusting you. When I am weak, let your grace be sufficient, and let your power rest on me. Lift the weight I was never meant to carry alone. Help me to wait on you and find my strength renewed, so that I can run and not grow weary, and walk and not faint. I lean the whole of my tiredness against you now, and I trust you to hold me up. Amen.
Bible verses about strength
These passages are drawn from the King James Version. Read them slowly, and let them shape your own prayers.
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Philippians 4:13

2 Corinthians 12:9
“Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
Nehemiah 8:10
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Isaiah 41:10
