Prayers and Scripture
Prayers for protection
When danger feels near or the world feels unsafe, the longing for protection runs deep. God is a refuge and a strong tower for those who run to him.
These verses are a shelter in words. Pray them over yourself, your home, and your loved ones.
A prayer for protection
Lord, you are my refuge and my fortress, and in you I put my trust. I ask for your protection over me and over the people I love. Cover us under the shadow of your wings, and keep us from harm, seen and unseen. Guard our coming and our going, our waking and our sleeping. Be a strong tower we can run to and find safety. Where there is real danger, deliver us. Where there is only fear, replace it with the peace of knowing you are faithful and that you guard us from the evil one. Give wisdom to make wise choices, and courage to face what we must. I cannot see every threat, but you can, and nothing escapes your watch. I place my trust in you, the one who neither slumbers nor sleeps. Keep us, and let us dwell secure in you. Amen.
