Prayers for guidance
Standing at a crossroads, longing to make the right choice, is one of the hardest places to be. God promises to guide those who seek him with an open heart.
These verses are for seasons of decision. Pray them, then listen for the quiet leading of God.
A prayer for guidance
Lord, I am facing a decision, and I do not want to lean on my own understanding. I come asking for your guidance, trusting that you will direct my path. Where I have been anxiously trying to figure it all out, help me to trust you with all my heart and to acknowledge you in every part of this choice. Give me wisdom, which you promise generously to all who ask. Make your way clear, and quiet the voices that would pull me off course. If I begin to wander, let me hear your voice behind me saying, this is the way, walk in it. I do not need to see the whole road, only the next faithful step. Lead me, and give me the willingness to follow even when it is hard. I trust you to guide me with your eye upon me, and I rest in that. Amen.

You do not need the perfect words to bring guidance to God. Pray the words above as they are, or let them be a starting point for your own. He hears the honest prayer, and he is near to everyone who calls on him. Return to this page whenever you need to, and pray as often as your heart needs.
