Prayers and Scripture
Prayers for depression
Depression can make even ordinary days feel like more than you can manage. God does not condemn you for struggling, and he does not leave when the darkness comes.
These verses are for the days that feel heavy and dim. Read them slowly, and know you are not alone.
A prayer for depression
Lord, I feel low in a way that is hard to explain, and some days it is hard to go on. My soul feels cast down within me, and I do not always have the strength to lift it. Meet me here, in this honest place, without rushing me out of it. You are close to the brokenhearted, and you hear when I cry, even when my prayers are only sighs. Be near. Carry the weight I cannot carry. When I cannot feel hope, help me to hold on to the truth that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Give me one reason to keep going today, and then another tomorrow. Surround me with people who will help me carry this, and give me the courage to let them. I put my hope in you, and I trust that you are gently leading me back to light. Amen.
