Prayers and Scripture
Prayers for anxiety
Anxiety can make a quiet day feel heavy and a small worry feel endless. You are not alone in carrying it, and you do not have to carry it well.
This prayer and these verses are here for the moments when your mind will not slow down. Read them slowly, and let your breathing follow.
A prayer for anxiety
Father, my mind is restless and my heart is heavy, and I do not know how to quiet either one. I bring my worries to you, even the ones I cannot put into words. You see the thoughts that crowd in at night and the fears I carry through the day, and you are not troubled by any of them. Teach me to cast my care on you, because you care for me. Where I am tempted to rehearse every outcome, help me to rest in the truth that you are already there. Trade my anxious thoughts for your peace, the kind that does not depend on my circumstances. Steady my breathing, soften my shoulders, and remind me that this moment is held in your hands. I choose to trust you now, one breath at a time. Amen.
